Classes with hands-on experience

Students
attend classes in the Victory Trade School and also receive hands-on
training in the hospitality industry -- either food service or hotel/motel
courses.
Students attend classes in the Victory Trade School and receive hands-on
training to prepare them for the hospitality industry; food service and
hotel/motel courses.
Cook's Kettle Restaurant
Students learn as they master various job
positions in our working restaurant. It is a model of how a restaurant can
serve good food and practice good hygiene and sanitation. The
student-operated restaurant provides variety in the menu and all customers
are served with professionalism.
Victory
Square
This hospitality laboratory gives hands-on hotel and
convention operation skills to the students. Victory Square consists of
four areas, which students operate, with instruction from staff.
The areas of operation include:
Victory Lodge, a dormitory-style affordable hotel with a
continental breakfast.
Victory Transitions, a housing facility where men receive a bed and
breakfast, attend classes, and receive counsel on employment and life
choices.
Victory Life, a center where clients can drop-in for fellowship,
use of computer and phone, classes, counsel, and other needs to help them
in moving forward. This is the Educational center for the Lodge and
transitions areas.
Victory Trade School is where students in VTS hospitality and PREP
reside. The PREP school students receive spiritual life classes, job
preparation, remedial skills, and GED if necessary. VTS hospitality
students attend classes and cross train in restaurant and hotel
instruction as they work various positions in Victory Square. This
building is managed consistent with hotel standards and is
student-operated in the same manner as Cook's Kettle.
Victory Prep: This life-changing program is designed for men with a
strong desire to change their lifes for the better. This is achieved
through intensive Bible studies, interpersonal and life skills classes,
job therapy and preparation for work or further education. The program is
also for those who otherwise would not qualify under the stated candidacy
requirements to enter the hospitality courses. In order to graduate or
move into the hospitality courses, those without a high school diploma
must receive a GED while in the PREP school.
Victory
House
Victory House New Life Program is a
non-denominational ministry of Springfield Victory Mission and is a center
for women who are in need of changing their lives spiritually, physically,
emotionally, and mentally. Its purpose is to provide a safe, secure
Christian environment that provides spiritual, emotional, and social
growth through classes and worksite opportunities.
